Love Architecture : Climate Change Challenge 2030

LCB Depot and online

Find out how an outcomes-based design approach and initiatives like the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge will help resolve the now well-known gaps between design intent and in-use performance by reinforcing the feedback loop between briefing and outcomes, leading to a more sustainable built environment. The Event will feature Alex Tait, Head of Technical Practice at the RIBA who will outline the RIBA’s core sustainable outcomes programme; and Mina Hasman, Associate Director and Sustainability Lead at SOM (Skidmore Owings and Merrill) in London, who will take delegates through a practical approach to sustainable project delivery.

The RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge has been designed to help architects meet net zero whole life carbon for new and retrofitted buildings by 2030.

Design Nation : Moving Forward talk

LCB Depot makers, designers, craftspeople, the curious

Talks by Clare Edwards, CEO of the The Hub – the national centre for craft and design in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, which holds England’s largest exhibition space for craft and design. Clare talks about issues and opportunities facing the maker economy today; and by Jo Cope, whose work spans design, conceptual craft and fashion. Since 2006 she has worked on a diverse range of commissions and exhibits which push the formal boundaries of fashion, questioning its evolving role within art and society.

Following the talks there will be a Q&A and a visit to the Design Nation installation pop-up at 14 Belvoir Street.
